Pamper Lake Highlands only succeeds with the generous gifts of time and service from members of Lake Highlands and beyond.  Here are several ways to make a difference:

Host a Diaper Drive!

Be as creative as you’d like! Grab a few friends and collect diapers for the families at Pamper Lake Highlands.  Diapers are a huge incentive for our PLH mothers, and they only receive diapers if they attend PLH education classes.  Sizes 5 and 6 are always our biggest need. Volunteer as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Teacher, or Mentor This Fall!

Our ESL classes (levels 1, 2, and 3) run Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9 – 11 am starting Sept. 17.  We teach various levels of English. No Spanish language skills or teaching experience are required and you can teach as little as one day a week.  The curriculum and training will be provided for you, so all you need to do is show up and teach our eager moms!

We also need lead teachers and assistants for the Basics class (a mix of Asian students who range from speaking no English to limited English) from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can teach as little as one day a week.

If you feel led to mentor, please help us on Tuesdays only from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm with our Bright Futures program participants as they work to meet their goals!

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested in any of these opportunities.

Help Fundraise!

Are you good at writing grants? Or making connections with corporate entities or churches that might become ministry partners?  Or connecting our Executive Director with these contacts?  Most of our donations are $100 or less, and for our budget of $180,000 a year we need larger donations to sustain and grow this ministry. Caren Bright would love to hear your ideas!

Volunteer as a Children’s Programs Enrichment Partner!

Do you have a talent or interest that you would like to share with the students in our children’s ESL classes? We are looking for Lake Highlands community members who would like to come share their talents this fall to help us build our enrichment program in the following areas: Storytelling, Puppets/Theater, Music, Art, Dance/Movement, Science Experiments, and Character Building. Our students are ages 0-5 and are currently learning English in our classrooms while their mothers attend adult education classes at PLH.  The time commitment would be 30 minutes per session and you can volunteer just one time or commit to something more regular (i.e., once a month, once a week, etc.).  Your younger children are welcome to attend with you during these enrichment sessions. Please email Kelly Musgrave to discuss how you can get involved.

Children’s Bible Study

Do you have a passion for teaching God’s Word to children? We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to help us spearhead and implement a children’s Bible Study program on Thursdays from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm during the 2018-19 school year while the mothers attend our adult Bible study classes.  Please contact Kelly Musgrave for more details.

Serve as a Board Member!

We need board members who are passionate about the Lord and His people! In order to fulfill the vision that the Lord has placed before our Executive Director, Caren Bright, we need a strong board with people of different areas of expertise and spiritual gifts to pave the way. If you would like more details please contact Caren Bright.
