Etenesh is an Ethiopian mother of three boys and a new Pamper Lake Highlands mother. She heard about PLH through a friend who completed the Bright Futures course and is now one of the PLH Children’s Learning Center teachers.
When asked about herself, Etenesh shyly explained that she wants to be a good mother and wife and shared a little of what God has done in her life. “God has given me many mercies. Jesus did many miracles in my life for me to be where I am. I come from a Muslim family but now we are all born-again Christians.”
Etenesh has wanted to improve her English since she arrived in America thirteen years ago but could not find a way to do so. “I wasn’t able to leave my kids to go to classes. Pamper Lake Highlands takes care of my son and I do not have to fear for him while I am learning. I can learn and he can learn.” In addition to learning English at PLH, Etenesh is also gaining work experience as a substitute teacher in the Children’s Learning Center. She has taught children at her church for several years and loves working with children. She wants to take the Bright Futures course and then get her Child Development Associates.
When asked what she enjoys about PLH outside of learning, she said, “Everyone is so patient and lovely. I have so many American sisters now.”
